Any animal can be a pain. Billy goats STINK and the stink stays with anything that it touches. No washing it off. Go sniff a wether, both goat and sheep, and see which one you like best because that is what you will smell like when you are dealing with them.
Sheep do have personalities and they cause their own kind of chaos in the barnyard.
I do not know about the common diseases for your area. Most would hit both kinds of critters. If you want to shear them for wool or brush them for cashmere, then you need to plan accordingly.

Going to be a hot one today, I'm going to try and do some gardening before the heat sets in. Says it's supposed to feel like 36 today (98F). But I've got a windy property so hopefully it won't be that sweltering.

98° F to 99°F has been our real temp, heat index at 103°F. 75°F in the mornings.

Yep, were a little early for those temps but hey, this is South Texas. This weekend and starting Friday, forecasted to be triple digits. Not liking that at all.

How do your pheasants and quail do with that kind of heat?

They do well, their enclosures have lots of shade trees all around them, so they get morning sun and afternoon shade. Most of the pens have running water through the pens, which gets filtered and recycled, so they have cool running water and not stagnate water in a standard waterer.
The only pens with waterers are my brooder pens.
