BYC Café

@NFC, thanks for the coffee. You have no idea how badly it is needed. Belated good morning, Café. Yesterday was the 'worst case' scenario for the boys. They ended up playing 4 games in the heat. First game started at 2:15 PM, and the last game ended at 11:20 PM. They won the first three games 10/2, 10/2, 9/5 but lost the last game 2/1. They had perhaps fifteen or twenty minutes between games, but that was just too much. Grandson pitched great in the championship game. Pitched into the ninth inning where he was pulled after walking the first batter . A missed throw to third allowed the winning run to score. These kids are special. They were smiling and sportsmanlike in defeat. I am 'whupped' today. I can only imagine how they must feel.

Boy who injured his ankle was there. Apparently it is a sprain with a suggested recovery period of 3 to 6 weeks. Kid who jammed his hand was also there. He may be out of commission somewhat longer.

boys will be boys, why would one want to injure his ankle and the other to jam his hand?
Come to think of it my sister jammed her toe into a cabinet. I don't know why she felt like doing that either. I apologize for what I just said about boys. Apparently its a human thing.

The turkey coop is coming along. Did some painting and cutting plywood today. Had to wait for it to cool down. Not wanting to work outside in 95.7 degrees with this humidity. View attachment 1453748
This is the knee wall, the turkeys can roost on it if they want. This side of the coop will be mostly open.
Looks like a great beginning to the new coop

Good Morning Cafe :caf. Thanks for coffee NFC I love coffee, it's still nicer with friends.

:clap Looks like a Turkey palace in the making! Watch the pace in the heat drink lots of water and Don't forget to eat!
You are doing a great job you have some lucky turkeys:ya
Those turkeys are funny, they like to follow me around! But at least they return to the lean-to at night.

I wanted turkeys, but MIL convinced DH "turkeys are dumb" then she said "Do you remember the one we had" he said oh yea and that was the end of my turkey journey.

Apparently when DH was young they had chickens a cow and a turkey so the story goes, it rained and the turkey refused to take cover instead he stood outside the coop and looked up at the rain. Until he drowned.

My neighbor had White Palm turkeys I loved them they came to visit all the time.

He did say no to ducks too though :celebrate now he brings them plants from my garden on his lunch hour :lau

The Turkey likely died from Blackhead. The -insert any animal here- was so stupid it drowned looking up at the rain is an old joke...Either not remembering correctly or someone is pulling a fast one on you :lau
