BYC Café

I had an open mri years ago because of an over zealous ENT. He tried several minor tests trying to discover the cause of very slight hearing loss in one ear. He would repeat the tests a couple days in a row. Of course nothing changed. Even had me on steroids because he thought it was due to allergy (in only one ear??)

Anyway he said an MRI was $ 800. Boy was he off on that. It was double that- luckily I had good insurance that covered it. He was certain I had a tumor on a hearing nerve (???He was not happy when none showed up. Then tried to sell me very buckski hearing aid
for very minor hearing loss only at a certain frequency. No dice. I still hear pretty darn good but, refuse to refer anyone to him.

Plus when I first walked into his office he decided I had thyroid trouble. I told him I had been tested often and negative. He had me tested - surprise negative. He said I looked "puffy". I told him an OB-GYN doctor had me on HRT(hormone replacement therapy) because I had just entered menopause. He said the doctor was over dosing me and should cut back. BINGO he got one thing right. In 10 days I dropped 16 lbs. of fluid.

I guess this all passed as entertainment way before I discovered Backyard Chickens. Actually a lot of folks here (nurses etc.)know much more than doctors I have encountered. They also didn't bill me.

Good morning Cafe, coffee is ready! Take whichever one you want and I'll drink the rest:)

Thanks, Debby, and good morning, all. Thought of going to the Amish market this morning, but have decided that will be a mistake.

With this being the last weekend before Christmas, I figure any shopping place will be busy. I need to go to the grocery store and don't even want to do that :p
