DD, it's not like the state is littered with multitudes of rattlesnakes.

I know, but, if they knew I was there they would come out in huge numbers. They would sense I was terrified of them.. The garter snakes we get have learned, I've got a "snake stick," garden hoe and know how to use it. Anything that makes me scream like that has got to be dangerous.Not to worry when it's hot and sunny I hibernate.

PS I did get over my fear and loathing of garden toads (never had them in Chicago). In fact I used to chase them all over the yard- trying to catch them - to let them know I was friendly. I even knew how to pick them up so they couldn't pee on me and saved some from the nasty garter snakes.

We are going to make a big batch of apple pie moonshine today! My favorite adult beverage. Not actually moonshine by the true definition, since I dont have a still (that anyone knows about, anyway...) The recipe on the internet calls for a gallon each of apple juice, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, sugar and a 5th of everclear and a 5th of vodka. Makes several quarts in Mason jars to be stored and aged. I havent had any for years, but its sippin' liquor that is definitely not to be taken lightly.

That's interesting! I had to look up everclear...that sounds like some crazy powerful stuff!
