BYC Café

Sorry to hear about the allergy woes Becca.

As for the roosters, you'll be able to tell more once you see them. But I'd probably be more inclined to get a bird from the cleaner place. To me, that just seems to show the owners are more apt to have taken better care of their birds.
I'm leaning that way myself. The other pics mostly were close ups of the blue Orps, but what I could see of the pens looked like maybe too many birds in smaller quarters. But wonder if a Bantam breed could handle his duties ones w/ large hens?

Can't you find a rooster the same breed as your hens, or do you have a mix?

I do yes.:)
I have long periods when I don't recall dreaming at all.
I had one of those anxiety dreams last night when you're running around searching for something.
Sort of became conscious and then went back to sleep. Woke up at 06.30 feeling like I hadn't slept enough.

No wonder you woke up tired, you ran all over last night!

My dream was interrupted by "knowing" there was a raccoon eating the little bit of cat food on the outside porch stoop. Without even thinking about it I popped out of bed, grabbed a flashlight and was looking out the door before I was fully awake.

And that little bit of cat food was gone. So I laid in bed for an hour trying to figure out if the stray cat I've been feeding ate it or if there really was a raccoon on the stoop polishing the food off.

Definitely going to be a nap kind of day.

From what I've read here on BYC, smaller boys can mate with bigger girls just fine. Guess where there's a will, there's a way :D

I'm going to try and rescue the herb border I made a few years ago. I gave up on it because the people in the main house started to let their city friends play at gardening when they came to visit.....it didn't require any digging!
The Lemon Thyme bush I planted and managed to get to grow is being swamped by weeds and stuff. The herb border looked lovely when I was doing it. It just looks a mess now.:(

He is super pretty, I just need to go see what kind of temperament I'm talking about. Might do get a look at the blue also. Maybe need to see the facilities in person. I just don't want a sick or mean bird obviously.

That sounds like a good project (and the Lemon Thyme sure would be good in cooking)!

Hope you can revive it. It sounds lovely, and fresh herbs make your food taste so much better. Never tried lemon thyme, it sounds like something you might use on fish.
