Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

Good morning, Cafe.

Thanks for the coffee, as always, Shad. Sounds like you are finally getting some of the rain you need. That's great.

Stripping windows is a looooooooooooooooooooong process. And I'm only about 1/2 way done.
That is completely the worst job!
When I was making the windows for H Block (my home) people said 'why don't you do them in natural wood and varnish them?'
Having stripped a few varnished windows in the past because moisture had seeped in I wanted windows that I could just rip out a section and replace it and paint over.

Yes, it's one of the worst jobs. But these windows are historic, multi-pane, 100+ year old windows. I really wanted them for the look of the new coop and I got them cheap. I have two large and one small to finish. Another pair of salvage windows I picked up are simulated multi-pane, aluminum clad. Obviously a snap to clean and repaint but hopefully, I'll only have to refinish the other three windows once in my lifetime!

Are you using a blow torch?

Two setting heat gun.
It bubbles up the paint great but because the windows are so darn old, the glazing compound is dry and brittle and too many coats of paint have seeped under the glass that even after chipping away at the glazing compound and pulling out the gazier points, the pane will not lift out. So I have to be really careful with the gun so I don't crack any more panes.
I only cracked one pane but I don't want to crack any more. The crack is small and I'll just put clear tape over both sides of it to reinforce the pane. It's just a chicken coop so I don't really mind.
