And they can strike half the distance of their body, so a 6' rattler could strike 3' away from where it is waiting in hiding.

Well, when Shad said a 'snake grab', it could have meant that I have something that's grabbing the snakes, a trap or some sorta thingy that's 'bringing' the snakes in or a pole that you use to grab snakes.
So I asked for clarification.

You video clip reminded me of a great sort of scam I saw a few time when traveling in Asia.
The locals used to catch Cobras and put them in a glass tank. Naturally the Cobras were a bit pissy about the confinement.
The snake 'owner' then tried to get unwary Europeans to make a bet. The bet was you placed your hand on the glass in front of the Cobras face and if you didn't jerk your hand away when the Cobra struck you won the bet. I never saw anyone win.
