BYC Café

Hoping for the best with getting the job, Tonya, oh, and Good morning!
Thanks, Sean! Good morning to you.
This potential job will be a big change. It is an LED lighting manufacturing company so little to no chemistry. But the company is expanding and it sounds a bit like a Chinese fire drill and they need some organization and process flow help
I just don't think they would be willing to pay me what I currently earn per hour. It is basically what my salary was when I was a full time engineer amortized to a dollar per hour wage so it sounds like a lot but really isn't for an engineer. But most companies expect engineers to work 50-60 hour weeks on salary. That is where the sticking point comes.

Morning Cafe.

Wow. You're gone one day and you spend 1/2 hour catching up. Whew! I missed out on planking walking, sharks, casino winners, coop naming, dumps and cursive writing (kids today probably think that means you curse while you write)!

I have a lead on a potential part time engineering position. One of my former gold line operators had an interview with this company, which happens to be a 1 minute drive from where we currently work, and she mentioned my situation to the hiring manager. He asked her to have me text him. I still can't find my resume so I'll have to start over on it but I'll text him later this morning and see what shakes out. :fl

Good luck Dobie, I hope it's a good opportunity for you :fl

They're traching the kids to pass the tests so they keep the jobs they don't want because they don't pay enough. $50k a year with tons of vacation and never have to worry about what to do with the kids over summer...must be harsh.
You better pop around here for a couple of my espresso coffees IM, before you deal with any public.:lau

I hope the job works out for you DL. It would take a lot of pressure off.

There is a flock of 14 wild turkeys - 6 hens and 8 poults - that travel through my yard daily. They hunt crickets/grass hoppers in my front yard and then cross the road into the neighbor's uncut hay field and feed on insects and seeds. Today when they saw me there was no reaction at all. They kept feeding and a couple of the poults were fanning - acting as if I was no threat at all. I'm not. :p

That must be fun to watch Sour!

One year when we lived in north FL, there was a big flock of wild turkeys we'd see daily in the fields around us. DH & I got a good laugh out of noticing they all disappeared shortly before Thanksgiving (they weren't hunted, they just vamoosed).
