Shad, how many chicks hatched so far? Sounds like crazy times to have 6 broody girls at once.

Cool morning here and we got rain, lots of rain, yesterday! Glad to see that.

Mel has 3 out of the 4 good eggs so far.
Ruffles has hers out and about.
Knock has her two out and about.
There are cracking noises coming from both egg piles in the bantam coop; could be lots split between 3 hens.
Fudge is about to try and sit on 3 eggs in her tribes coop.
On top of that I was asked in the village this morning if I could take 14 Andalusian and Catalan hens and roosters because the owners are moving into a town flat.
Plus the guy who bought the Asils told me this morning that he has two sitters now.

I think what I'll do is open the fridge door, empty a bag of feed onto the floor of H Block and go away for a couple of weeks.

To be frank I've mismanaged this a bit this year.
I wasn't going to let Mel sit but............
I was hoping that Knock's mum, Donk would sit rather than Knock but.......
I did want the bantams to sit because they are short staffed, but I wasn't think of a general cooperative sit at the time, but..........
Only Tackle to go and all the hens that lay eggs have had the chance of being a mum which is what I aim for.

He got home on Saturday, thanks for asking. Said it was a long drive with lots of construction, but a nice town.
