Might be better to catch something now than in a couple of months time. I've had a bad cold go wrong over winter and it took ages to shake off.feel bit more like me still low cough taking just mucinex now making so jumbo cupcakes yellow butter recipe
This three broodies looking after three chicks is interesting stuff! I haven’t seen a chick preference for a particular hen. The hens, or at least Nolia does have a chick preference though.
Miss Neurological (Bracket) is still the top hen. She’s rather like a very eccentric and energetic school maam. She’s a terrible mum. She mislaid her last chick and it never made it home. The other two tolerate her, but are far steadier.
Gloria the vet isn’t back from her holidays until Wed next week so Cillin hasn’t had his bumble foot looked at yet. He’s walking around fine but every now and then I’ve seen him catch the bumble on something and he flinches. I’ve put Betadine Gel on it at night in the hope that it will soak in around the core.
I know people operate themselves but I’m not prepared to while there is a vet availible.
The younger of Knocks two chicks has got some feathering problems. The baby fluff has fallen out but proper feather growth below the vent and on its belly very patchy. I got a quick look this afternoon but had to put the chick down because Knock was winding up to full battle order very quickly. It’s great she is so
Mel has started to try to take her three chicks back to the tribe coop. Normally I would be delighted. However, one of the chicks is a wanderer and Mel leaves it to it. I’ve had to pick the wnaderer up and take it to Mel on a few occasions. The wanderer doesn’t wander very far but it’s far enough for any predator to take advantage. While they are all just outside they tend to stick to a limited area which where I can find them easily. Once in the tribe coop they will follow the tribe and they range all over the place.
This is Ruffles fourth go at being a mum. She hasn’t taken her chicks back to the tribe coop until they were two or more months old. It looks like she’ll do the same with this one.

Up early, going to the cardiologist. Have a great day everyone!
