What happened to tradition.:th
My mother was American (Scottish) and she insisted our family did the 'traditional' Christmas. This meant no decorations up until Christmas Eve. We weren't allowed to watch the tree getting decorated (had to be a real tree) or see any of the decorations etc until Christmas morning. We had stocking pinned to the mantle piece and had to collect the key for the door from our parents by bringing them tea, and later when we were older, breakfast.
Our traditions here were different. Santa brought presents and filled stockings over christmas eve but the tree was decorated weeks before then.

That is the thing about the US, we are a huge melting pot so not single traditions here

Awe, those are so fun, DL! Did you say they were ceramic? I can't remember if you said what medium you were using...
Naw! Just fabric Mod Podged onto 1/8" thick, 4" round wood round cuts. I painted the backs and edges dark green and sealed them up in Mod Podge too.

I liked my parents tradition. It meant Christmas lasted the 12 days, not the two months that a commercial Christmas seems to go on for in the UK.
Here, Christmas isn't such a big deal. It's Three Kings Day when people celebrate, or has been in the past. Maybe a lot less now.
