BYC Café

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is on the stove.
Warmish and sunny here.
The Park Wardens have been by this morning. It seems I'm not the only one who has had stupid people and dog troubles this week.
It's the Christmas holidays apparently. Lots of people come out to their country houses for the holiday and decide they'll walk their dogs. After the trouble earlier in the year the Park Wardens are going to 'take care' of any 'stray' dogs.
I asked if I could borrow a gun and 'take care' of the owners.:p
As most acknowledge, you can't fix stupid.

Thanks, Debby. Princess is out to lunch with 2 of her friends so it is just me rattling around in this house. More cookie making to ensue when she returns.
I suppose I'm a bit late for the cookie leftovers.:(

Realistically anything planted prior to mid May might be subject to frost. When my Mom was alive she would call this time of year and tell how she was eating her fresh picked tomatoes - Florida - she always planted a fall/winter garden.
We can grow them most of the year here. We do have to frost net them though.

Here we are allowed to shoot dogs that attack livestock
You are here as well. I don't own a gun.
I wouldn't have been able to shoot the dog probably anyway. When I got to Thistle she was lying on her side with one of the dogs trying to tear a hole in her. I had to drag the dog off her. The other ran away as soon as the dog I dragged off Thistle yelped.
Quite lucky not to get bitten really but one doesn't think about that in the heat of the moment.

@Meg-in-MT and @N F C here's a couple pics of my table, sorry not the greatest. It's currently holding the tree we got (daughter and her kids moved back so we had to do something for the boys). I'm hoping one more coat of stripper will finish off most of the paint.

I have a light fixture Igor is going to mount under the top for a plant light and I'm going to make the big glass jar into a terrarium.

I like the scroll design around the edges, looking forward to seeing how you finish it out IM!

Yea, I was wondering how I was going to deal with that and not ruin it. Research helped; will have to buy some steel wool, acetone and lacquer thinner this weekend.

If this comes out well I'm thinking about refinishing an old hutch. It's close to 100 years old and needs some help.

Are you going to oil and wax the wood?
