BYC Café

Carrots, peas, broccoli, artichokes, potatoes, some herbs and a strawberry plant. Strawberries were a whim and I only got one broccoli but my seeds were old.

You got anything in the ground right now?

Nice! Is this your 1st year with artichokes or is it an existing plant from previous years?

Thanks for the coffee Sean! It's good to warm up after being out to shovel a path in the snow for the girls to come out (they are more tired of the snow than I am!).
Your welcome, no snow here, just 74°F and cloudy, windy, scattered showers.

This is the second year. Last year we didn't eat any of the flowers, it was an immature plant and our previous experience wasn't great th first year. I'm also using bunny poop in the garden this year which it LOVES.

I use to drop things myself. Had to stop trimming dogs because I dropped and broke so many clippers / teeth off of blades. Walking I would suddenly notice I wasn't carrying a bag and retrace my steps and found the bag near the street. The contents were intact but, I never realized I had let go.

That has lead to me using a backpack and a waist (fanny) bag for my wallet, keys, sunglasses etc. for many years. It is second nature to me. Other woman have asked me about it and after I told them why. They ended up getting a waist pack. I even gave some of my extras away( I had many until I figured what I liked best).

Penny, I feel paper cuts, hang nails, every minor thing with my hands but still ????? They manage to sneak things by me.

I got a really bad case of tendonitis (sp?) in my right arm. I could not even lift an empty paper cup it hurt so badly. My left arm that was always useless and dumber than dirt, suddenly took over and was able to do things it never did before - like button buttons. The human body is a miraculous thing.

Almost makes me wonder if we have spare parts just waiting to be pressed into service.
Like the Klingons on Star Trek - with two hearts in case one conks out. I think I better go to bed soon, before the guys in the white coats come and get me.

PS I've heard that they actually wear blue coats.
I had a similar experience with the left arm when I broke my right wrist. I can still do most things well with my left hand

That turned out okay. Half an hour in the oven and another couple on the stove that's ticking over. Nice bit of beef from the farm down the track.

I'm trying to rescue a lemon thyme plant and some other herbs from the main house veg garden.
Just dug my roof plot over. Probably won't put anything in until late March now.
