That bright blue sky is supposed to fade to gray with flurries today.
That was today here as well though the overnight snow probably amounted to only 1/4". Then sun/clouds/spit snow/sun/clouds/spit snow all day.
This graph of the solar production gives you an idea:

I'm one click away from buying that house for Mom!
We settled at $72k. It's a great house for her!! :ya
That is great! I can't imagine a house at that price anywhere around here. Maybe an old mobile home on leased land.

Diva, send a shopping list and I bet we can fill it and send it for cheaper!
How are we going to get her favorite food there without it becoming a puddle?

You guys all keep commenting on how inexpensive mom's new house is.
Do any of you remember that I paid $35k for my house and got $6k back when it failed the septic test?
My neighbor paid more for his truck than I paid for my house.

$35K wouldn't buy much anywhere around here! Maybe a rotted out camp out in the woods somewhere.

And yeah, trucks. Somehow they got more expensive than cars. Can't even buy a true "gonna get beat up, don't need anything fancy" work truck cheap anymore. The cheapest F150 is $29K new. That is what I paid for my Prius Prime a year ago and it has pretty much every "feature" you can get in a PP.

Developer fees are higher than that for a new house here!

When I first looked at this house when the listing popped up, birds were flying in and out through the holes in the garage roof, the rear and side decks were completely rotted off, circuits had literally popped off the load center and were hanging inside the box, and there was a hole rotted through the living room ceiling where the weather head penetrates.
But the land was nice, the concrete foundation was excellent, it's on a dead end road and the layout was conducive to remodeling the way I wanted it. For me it was love at first sight and I put an offer in that day.
I have a few pictures of what some of it looked like...

Garage roof (I tore everything off down to the rafters and replaced about 1/4 of the rafters before rebuilding)

Looking out of the garage (obviously the sheathing went too. Man did it stink!)

The front of the garage kinda still looks this way. This was the framing for the new apron.

Our first house in Florida cost about the same, way back when the kids were in Elementary school.
