BYC Café

Looks great! My bathroom needs help if you are bored.

As I informed the pervy new member that joined not too long ago, I haven't been bored since I was 5 years old.

Gave me inspiration right here at our kitchen want to redo counters keep the ancient cupboards but stip them see the wood figure out good color

Penny, you can do it! You just need to take your time and do it right. If you set up an area that is clean and work on a section of cabinets at a time, you will be amazed at the transformation.
Just remove all the doors and drawer fronts from the boxes first and remove their hinges and knobs/pulls. Put labels on the cabinets and doors/drawer fronts so you know where everything goes when you put them back. I label under where the hinges were. You don't need to strip the cabinets to bare wood. All you have to do is scrub them clean using TSP and a lot of elbow grease to remove all the grime.
Then I go over the each piece and use wood fill to fill in any nicks or dings then use a fine grit sanding sponge to sand down the wood fill and lightly go over the rest of the wood surfaces.
Vacuum everything well.
Use a chemical stripper to lightly wipe down the surfaces.
Tack cloth.
Prime.
Caulk.
Three coats of paint both sides.
Hang the doors and install the drawer fronts and touch them up. I bought new hinges and had to drill new holes in the stiles.
Picking out the right paint color is the biggest challenge. Go online and look at other peoples finished kitchens for inspiration.
Use top quality paint in a satin or semi-gloss sheen. I use Sherwin Williams ProClassic Acrylic-Alkyd paint.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
Road trip today. DH is due for a MRI and a dental as part of the clinical trial. Next week is the wrap up visit and when we will discuss with the doctor DH getting the 80 mg dose of the drug. If they are offering that, it means DH has likely been on the placebo during the trial and that the drug is showing statistically significant results in other patients and they are now going to give it to the rest of the group that is willing to take it. I need to talk to the doctor about all this to see if my assumptions are correct.

I keep forgetting that you’re not English.
I believe Shad is English, just now living in Spain.

:fl :fl :fl
Best of Luck DL and your DH.
