Due to the lack of the forecasted storm and no rain the expected temperature drop didn't happen; 37C here today. I'm not impressed and have reverted to grumpy mode.
Of course the fire risk increases particularly in the holiday season when people go out into the countryside and do stupid stuff. We've had a couple of small local fires, dealt with quickly thankfully.
Tomorrow is going to be hot again.

How the hell did the son get the password for the bank account?
How and when will that be resolved?

There was a page of alerts in DHs email on Aug 12 showing his attempts to get into the account. He likely ended up calling them and having them change it.
The account is now frozen and I'm happy to report all the money is still there. I requested that the account be closed and a new account with a new number be created for security reasons. It's called an account conversion. It is pending review of the POA by the CU legal department but everything is set up and ready to go as soon as that happens. Then I'll have to update his direct deposit for his SS payments to go to the new account. I pretty much will have spent about 6 hours fixing what his son did with the exception of the destruction of the relationships between me and the majority of DHs family. They can't be fixed. And that is the true tragedy here. It was utterly unnecessary to happen this way.

Do you think the relatives may have emptied his account?
Obviously you need whatever legal measures required to ensure you have the main say in his affairs bullet proof. Relatives after money if that is the case here have a horrible habit of doing the 'I'll be back' bit.

Thankfully, no.
And I might also point out that I mark every transaction where I move more than the normal monthly living expenses with a memo as to where the additional funds were applied. Everything has always been and always will be above board. And Jr would have seen all of that. So exactly why was it necessary to cut me off from the account and leave me with no way to pay for DHs expenses?

Had an unexpected storm front move thru today.
Stayed cloudy all day with some nice gentle rain and cool breezes keeping temps below 80.
Was a nice break in the heat wave.
Suns out again but won't be for long.
Next 2-3 days forecast to be brutal, then hopefully more rain and cooling.
