BYC Café

I went in to pick up a prescription today & the pharmacist said in one fluid sentence, “Have you got your flu shot yet, we can do it right now.” I think I stopped breathing for a second, broke into a sweat & almost ran outta there without my script.
I’m a little needle phobic.

Needed to trim Willie's spurs, just nip off the sharp tips.
Was easy last time, guillotine dog nail clippers, did them while he was standing on the roost after dark. I've 'trained' him by touching him and his feet, checking crop, while on the roost so he tolerates it.

This time not so much, not a clean cut, blade dull maybe from sitting out in the coop.
Had to cut one twice because it was shattered.
So then they need filing down.
Got some sand paper but he wouldn't stand still for long.
He walked along the roost and I just got quick swipes in when he paused.
He never alarmed or bit me, just tried to walk away, disturbing most the other birds.
Took a bit but got it done, it really was kind of funny.
Everyone got back to their places, wasn't full dark yet, and went to sleep.

Gonna buy a new to you car?!
Yes ma'am!
First a stop in Wilkes-Barre for a quick visit to the clinic for DH then off to RI.
This is only the second time in my life that I've bought a car that I took my time shopping for and bought when it was right for me instead of needing to get a car because the one I had was totalled.

Fabio needs a nip too.
I had to do chores this morning before the flock was off the roost. The two 21 week old cockerel brothers hopped down and went out to the run and I sent some of their sisters that were walking along the boards out with them. Soon after I heard the screaming from the feather pulling so I hoisted Fabio off his spot and sent him out to deal with them. His spurs have definitely gotten long.
