BYC Café

Had a wonderful day! Our "daughter" came out to visit. It was the first time she has gone anywhere but the store, to chemo, or the pharmacy in about 2 months. We walked around, had brats on the grill, and chatted.

Not everything was wonderful... Had to fix a doorknob that broke, the drill pump DH bought last year doesn't work worth crap, and the riding mower is probably dead.

But seeing her smile and enjoy the day out weighed everything else. :)

That is what matters

Good morning everyone! Rise and shine! Coffee is ready for those in need. ☀️

Can you imagine? The sun is shining, the sky is blue and finally we have the appropriate temperatures to go with it! :celebrate

Dottie hatched 4 of 5 by now, one egg still intact but might be a dud, as she had one dark olive egg laying beside her several times during the last days. I always put it back under her, because I was unable to see anything candling it, the shell is too dark and thick.

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee, LF. It's much needed.
The rain continues today. My feet were soaking wet when we ran the dogs yesterday. It felt like I had wet sponges in my shoes.
The flock loitered in the run most of the day. I bribed them out with a tin of sardines. They'd never had sardines before and came to a screeching halt when I put the dish on the ground. I marched right up to Fabio with a chunk in my hand and he just stood there for a few seconds staring at it then snatched it out of my hands, tossed it around and tried some. Then the cluck, cluck, clucking immediately started as he tid bitted the girls over and they all dove onto the dish.

If their faithful food taster approves, they just can't go wrong!

This reminds me of the scene where Cleopatra's bodyguard/food taster had to sample her bath soap prior to her using it while in the bath tub:
