We put all the critters to bed birds in rat traps all over got 3 today in them.. We have all food cut off so this leaves the peanut butter in the traps

That damn woodpecker is back, this time tapping at the front deck,
scaredtheshit out of me!!
So I whipped up the blind and scaredtheshit out of it!

Have had PWP tapping on the house before, which is 95% covered in metal.
Read that they do this for territorial reasons as well as looking for food.

Maybe set up a nice breakfast table and invite him to join you every morning?

There is a lot of woodpeckers around this year, I love them!

Somehow the word "tapping" just doesn't seem to fit for a Pileated. You can hear them on trees hundreds of yards away. I can't imagine the noise of them hammering on metal.

An exploratory tap...tap...tap.
Rather than the bambambambambam when they are drilling holes.

There 15 acres of woods, and more beyond, they can dine in out there.
I totally stopped feeding wild birds when I got chickens.

This morning a hummingbird hovered right in front of the window 2' from my computer screen.

Yay, DL! Ours is "supposed to" break this weekend. Looks to be very pleasant next week.

Windows open, fan on at night, is my kind of summer weather.
