And I got a new LOW!!!!! 6 eggs from 19 hens, 18 of them SHOULD be laying. Nuit has just taken in 6 babies so she gets a pass .... same as she has for the last month while she's been broody waiting for the new girls

How many active layers do you have?
I got 18 tonight from 20 potential. Tonk broke 2 nights ago so she has a bit of time before she gets off the bench and back in the game.

I get two or three eggs every day. Except on the days when it's one or zero.

I couldn't find Fabio's spur pliers or the Dremel. I'll look better tomorrow morning.
What is exposed from the sheath falling is the right one is rough in texture.
The left one will be gone by this time tomorrow. It wiggles around but I couldn't easily pull it off and he was getting upset so I left him alone.

11 hens, not sure all are laying tho.
Pretty sure there's at least one in henopause.

Nothing official, older birds may stop laying or lay very infrequently for numerous reasons.

I'm enjoying my first mug listening to a Wood Thrush singing in the woods very near the edge of my lawn. It's so melodic. They are my favorite to listen to.
