What breed(s) did you order?

Double Silver Laced Barnevelders from an NPIP breeder. They are mid-sized, not quite LF, not quite bantam. Supposed to be very hardy.

Thanks for the coffee, LF. The power has been out since last night at 9:40 so no coffee for me unless someone else makes it. And no breakfast.
Rough night. Nasty thunderstorms went through with wind up to 70 mph. Two trees down in the back yard. The only casualty is one of my colorful aluminum chairs.
I spent some time clearing the poultry netting line for when the power is restored.
The run got wet. The coop is nice and dry even with the windows wide open. I love those 2 foot overhangs!

Gonna be watching to hear about your "one for the team" hatching project... That double lacing is BEAUTIFUL!

You two are equally to blame for this... I ordered 6+ hatching eggs.

BUT it's primarily for educational purposes! I am going to write an article and I will be shooting video of how I manage my broodies. So, this is for the greater good of the BYC community. I'll suffer through for the benefit of others.

Heat wave broke, it's a 'freezing' 70°...sure is nice not to be sweating while sitting.
I think broody is done she didn't head for nests last night...and didn't tick when I checked her leg bands and crop.

That's what I'm thinking. We got hit the hardest in the county. There are trees and limbs down everywhere. Driveways blocked. Roads blocked.
