All this confusion is just what you two needed on top of all going on.Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
I got nothing done on my house projects yesterday other than thinking and planning. The hospital messed up the blood draw they did on DH Monday for the Thursday appointment. Apparently there was an order for a CBC in the system from last October from his PCP (who left the practice over 4 months ago). So the one the the Urologist submitted wasn't done. We had to go 2 hours early to the hospital to get another draw. The lab put a STAT order on processing the sample so it would be done by the time of his appointment. What they didn't count on was us sitting in the waiting room for over an hour before they spent 5 minutes collecting the sample.
We got the PSA but not the testosterone level.
The good news is the drug they gave him is working. His last PSA was 12.6 before getting the drug. It was 4.1 two weeks after the shot.
He's scheduled to get the drug that lasts 6 months one week from this coming Monday.
Dropping the testosterone down to essentially zero removes the fuel that feeds the prostate cancer and lengthens that runway. All we're trying to do is keep the cancer runway longer than the Alzheimer's runway.

Crossing my fingers that this time the treatment will stop the cancer progression for good.

With one of our neighbours it worked really well, and as one of the positive side effects he stated that with all these female hormones he had to take to bring his testosterone levels down, he finally learned to understand how women must feel during pregnancy or their monthlies.
