Get more birds Sally. Chicken math
I did! I got three chicks last June. Might get another three next spring, or hatch, if I get a broody.

Wonder if I can talk DH into putting a wing addition on the other side of the coop? 🤔 It would look more symmetrical that way, dear... It's about 47 sf right now; another wing would be 62-ish.

The run is pretty much what it's ever going to be. It's about 153 sf.

Cafe crowd must have moved to a new location?
Maybe just busy preserving this year's harvest and getting everything ready for upcoming winter.

Right this moment I am busy cooking applesauce. 😋

Could be, other forum areas are rather slow also...
...we're all slowing down with the shortening days. :gig

Feels kinda steamy here today with temps in the low 80's.

I hung two loads of wash, got the left side garden planted, repaired the lawn where the concrete Dobermans and pallet of shingles dented the ground, seeded and watered it, moved the trailer back to where I store it and got all the tools put away so I could finish cutting the grass.

I made one circuit around the bit of grass I didn't finish last night in the back yard and got stuck in the mud in almost the exact spot as I did the last time but at a 90 degree angle to the first time. I took that as a sign that today was just not my day to finish the grass so I left the damn thing right where it is and brought the laundry in and started cooking the weekly frittata and will put a crock pot together for dinner for the next three days.

DH is going to see his kids for a week. I drop him off to his daughter this Saturday and will pick him back up from her the following Saturday. If the weather cooperates next week, I'll take it off and strip the rear of the roof and get it ready to build the seasonal room. I have quite a number of people who claim they will be here to help. I hope so. It will make things so much easier for me.

Did you have to cajole them to take him. I pray not
Do know you love him, even so a break can help you also

I'm thinking she won't lay again until after the solstice, but maybe not until spring.
In my experience, yes. Any of mine that quit for fall moult don't lay regularly until the end of February though the 2 Anconas would kick back in for a week or two at the end of December then quit again. Very odd given that is the time of year with the least amount of daylight.

They can detect that infinitesimal increase in day length after Solstice.

Bang flash and blow thunderstorm is blipping the power.<cringes>
