I haven't decorated our homes for any season for 9 years because of always living in a construction site.
When DH got the cancer diagnosis this January, I promised myself this year I would decorate for us. I bought the tree in January.
I've never had an artificial tree before but this one looked nice. I can't stand cutting a real tree down anymore just to use as decoration for several weeks.
We turned on Christmas music and listened to that while I set up the tree and put decorations around the house.

Oh, Goodie...they cancelled the most the day rain forecast for today.
Now it will be sunny and 49 this afternoon, can get the old bedding dumped.

I think Ace is thinking about trying out his big boy voice. When I had the dogs out this morning, Fabio and Napoleon started crowing. Ace didn't actually crow, but he sounded off. Then the other two started in and he didn't try again.

Good Morning Cafe!

Had a busy day repairing our original coop - which was made at no cost from materials we reclaimed from a shed we took down. Finally after 5 years, it was showing signs of needing new walls and some patch ups. This took much of the day, but it’s now looking good and the 2.5 month old Bresse flock has been moved in. Squalls and ice pellets yesterday.

Today the goal is to build the Hedemora chicks a larger brooder area in the newer main coop (which is baby barn style). Overcast skies and cold weather. Should be an okay day for work.
