Tell me a bit about your canning system please DL.

I haven't canned in decades. But I use a pressure cooker. I hope to can and freeze regularly throughout this growing season to maximize the food from my garden. I always gave away about 3/4 of the food in produced. I need to keep more of it for myself now.

I was unaware of the details. I had heard about the shooting. I looked at other news reports as well and it appears law enforcement really screwed this up.
I also saw the statistics on just how bad the US is regarding mass shootings vs the rest of the globe. I don't know what the solution is to the problem. This world is getting worse IMO. Too much hate, entitlement and violence and not enough acceptance of differences, respect for others and kindness. It is one of the reasons I don't watch the news and just live the best life I can.

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee Shad.

I've met with a 4th contractor this morning. Seems like a nice guy. We had what I thought was a good conversation. I asked him to just be honest with me about whether he can help complete the project or not, don't leave me hanging. If you don't want to do it or can't, just say so and I'll keep looking. I'll keep looking regardless until I can contract someone.

I think he'll quote it. But he can't do it until July. The roof is holding up so far and I think with the way that I did the stretch flashing around the vent stacks it will hold up a few months if needed. One way or another, it's going to be done before the snow flies this year!!!!

In the meantime, I have to get DH moved down to his new home today and he has be VERY emotional lately. Many episodes of teary eyes over the last week with me. Even when we were leaving my sister's and hugs were given all around. I think somewhere in his mind he knows a change is coming and he is afraid he isn't going to see me or anyone else again. He will and I keep reassuring him that. Hopefully these next few days aren't too hard for us.

I think there are just too many people crowded together in cities. Like rats in a cage. Makes them crazy.
