BYC Café

This, exactly. I wanted a broody last year and there was none to be had all spring. The stinks waiting until summer 😂😂😂
I have even had polish go broody! Had three at once one time, but none of them had chicks hatch.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

The owl is back. I'm going to wait a little longer to release the flock to make sure it's tucked in for the day.

As suspected, Astrid was back on the nest last night at lock up. She'll get tossed back in the clink this morning.

Could you let her set in her favourite nestbox until hatch and just mark the eggs?
Or maybe even secure her box with wire and let her out once a day?
By the time her chicks will be due to hatch the other little family might have left the kindergarden already...🤔

I suspect Jody will use the ward for quite a while. She is low ranking and a bantam.
Astrid has hatched twice. She has had the experience. It's not her turn yet. She's going to have to wait. But she WILL go broody again. She always has.
