We've made it up to 51 so my ears are safe now. At dark tonight I'm prepping all coops to be good until noon tomorrow. One monkey wrench that may show up in my plan is if I have to get out and break ice.

I hope everyone who's not feeling 100% gets better. Do all that crappy cold and flu stuff in January when it's dark, cold, nothing going on. Unless you're going on vacation then.

Sunny off and on, which was appreciated. Trying to get everything done and ready for our trip to NC. I have a list, and it has a lot of stuff to do on Friday.

I heaved a big sigh of relief that my neighbor could do chicken duties. (Not the one with so many chickens, the next one over.) Now I'm just kind of hoping that Robin doesn't lay her first egg while I'm gone. She's been looking like "any day now" for about a month.

I plan to take a lot of books and my Kindle. And sleep past daybreak!

Charlotte. We are going by way of Pittsburgh, PA. We're visiting my husband's college friend who lives there and is dying of breast cancer.

Which means we're arriving in Charlotte on Sunday. And the Panthers have a home game. I'm packing a lot of patience for the last 2 hours of the trip...
