The 3MCs finally got brave enough to come out of the run.
One of them has a suspiciously red comb and wattles!

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
Nice chilly, bright sunny morning here at 45F. The 3MCs darted out first thing when the door to the run was opened. They love exploring out on the ground. Yesterday was their first contact with the grass.
Again, I'm outside in shorts and a tank top in bare feet walking across the damp deck to go feed the fish. And smell wood smoke from the neighbors stove! They must have the absolute worst insulation in that house. The mere thought of firing up the stove in this weather is the furthest thing from my mind. It feels just glorious. This is the type of weather that makes me go find fun day trips to do in the autumn!

We are having a blast with our friend. Yesterday, we roasted a shoulder roast of one of his lambs and it was delicious.
Even my DIL tried some and liked it but the GS, he was chowing down after a very long day of playing with the dogs and bike riding.
DL, it sounds like you have a fun Fall planned.
I have to take my friend to her 3 doc appts today and so the 2 "Boys" will be on their own. I think they have an adventure planned.

Heard tree trimmers and a chipper close by this morning,
so as I went out to run errands saw it was very close indeed.
Walked down to chat and showed the guy where he could back up and dump his chippings truck. He was happy and I am too...tho they haven't it dumped it yet. Some of the stuff in the truck looked pretty large, what I could see thru a gap in the tailgate anyway.

it's good stuff for the chicken run, most of which is damn near bare tho not stinky due to 10 years of broken down stuff.
