BYC Café

Good Morning All.
I am on my 2nd cup of coffee. My first cup was cold and started to turn into culture. :)
I like instant coffee, my best coffee was used to be made in that glass jug in McDonald. It tasted divined to me. I find the other coffee is too heavy & too bitter. But I've been told the coffee I like isn't much of a coffee, it has other stuff in it. It tastes divine to me regardless. :)
I can’t make myself like instant coffee, but it gets the caffeine into my mouth so the objective is completed. I suppose.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

We hit 55 yesterday. I took the dogs out for a quick run between working at the plant and signing back on when I got home. They were filthy when we were done.
I also topped up the pond, cleaned the skimmer net and dumped 2 more frogs into the moat. They seem to be oozing out of the lining. Where are they all coming from?
By this Saturday, we'll dip into single digit nights and not get out of the teens during the day.

I also topped up the pond,
Did you remove the pump...or is it OK over the winter??

Dark and gloomy again here, and yeah, colder.
Tho the days will begin to be longer(by seconds) starting this weekend, sunrise will continue to be later until after the first week of Jan.

My brother has once again lightened these dark days by sending me a box of dark chocolates from Krause's.

At work, they have a coffee machine and a jar of instant coffee. I think I am the only one drink the instant coffee, most people just buy coffee and some use the coffee machine that need to be refilled .I grew up in the time instant coffee was the thing, all these fancy coffee beans did not arrive until much later and I do not like bitter taste so I don't drink coffee beans coffee or alcohol because of that bitter taste. :)

Pump is still running. As long as it can continue to move the water, I will leave it in place. I have a thermostatically controlled heater in front of the skimmer entrance with an air bubbler under it. The moving water in the bog and stream don't freeze. I also have a pool pillow floating in the middle of the pond.
I changed the water flow pattern in the pond so that it stays primarily moving at the top of the pond and not the bottom where the fish are hanging out.
I like it because I can still see the fish on the bottom of the pond and can skim the algae out every now and again to keep the bioload down. Can you believe that damn string algae continues to grow all winter long? Albeit and a reduced rate but still. What a noxious weed!
