I have to be careful when we're playing Frisbee with Freya. If she's watching hubby to see where he's throwing while she's running, she will barrel right into me. I have to be sure I'm well off to the side, because she could take out a knee.

A fresh pot is on the counter to enjoy

I just had to catch and remove an uninvited hungry visitor from the BCM chicks run.
It has visited before on Friday last week and was successfully fought off by the valiant momma hen,.
But this time momma hen had just left the 6 week old chicks and rejoined the flock yesterday and it managed to squeeze through the netting terrorizing the little ones.

Just when I was about to release it, it managed to grab through my shirt and jeans and puncture my abdomen with its middle claw. Ouch.

Yes, I enlarged the opening to have it bleeding dome more, then disinfected and covered in antibiotic ointment. Started on some antibiotics as well as I still remember the nasty infection I contracted from rescuing an owl that got itself well entangled in the poultry netting some years ago. It punched right through my heavy duty leather gloves.

Good catch with that hawk, @LaFleche !!

I hope you don't develop an infection but it seems you are on top of it.
I'm surprised the hawk came back after mom drove it off previously.

They are very persistent and watch us and the chickens and dogs very closely throughout the day.

I'd guess skunk or raccoon.
