Good morning and thanks for the coffee!
Cloudy and cool, 60F, but that won't be changing much today. Nice break from the heat of yesterday.
I am getting a young rooster from a neighbor today. He is just starting to figure out how to crow. He will go in with the older crew of hens after spending a couple of days in a dog crate in their run. They have raised baby chicks before and that seems to help with any integration issues. The neighbor has an AirBnB so early morning wake-up calls not allowed.
Whatever, now they can listen to dueling crows filtering though the mountain valley and ridges.

Good morning Cafe had drizzle for a half hour.
no measurable rain but that is how this month is.
Did bring more coffee.

It is a cooler afternoon and we have showers rolling through. The roo is a decent sized Speckled Sussex. Very calm and my ladies are mehgh about him, neither intrigued or scared. Just another chicken... LOL!

Made DH his breakfast of pancaked and eggs.
Made me my egg mcmuffin as usual.
Now time for lunch cold chicken wings yum!

Good afternoon, back with an afternoon pot of coffee. GREAT vacation. I actually wanted to opt out - too much crap to do around here, but the Princess said, "We're going - you need it." As always, she was right. I feel rejuvenated. Furnace was fixed while we were gone.

So they can listen to the morning racket that the hens make when they're laying eggs. What's the difference?! I'd much rather hear a rooster crow.

I have to agree with Dobi on that would rather have a rooster wake me.

The doe is the one with the injured eye from last autumn. I've seen her multiple times a week for quite a while. I never noticed her fawns. A few days ago she was laying in the tall grass next to the moat cooling off in the mud. She must leave them hunkered down in the woods when she visits.

Good Morning,

Dobielover - your backyard of warm sunshine, green lawn, and wild life...this is destination holiday with nature, so dream like.

In the mean time, it is freezing over here, my face and fingers feel the pain of the cold air. There isn't much sunshine at the moment, Seeing your photo of your backyard is making me feel a bit warmer.

Had coffee, tea, and another tea already, just to keep warm.
Only 7 weeks to go to spring time September.

Mtn Margie, so nice you have a good rooster. This make me think about getting a rooster again!

Sourland is back and 100% recharged.

...my oven officially stopped working!

It was the washing machine that was leaking...got a new one..but still use the old one until it stops working.

Then came the dryer stopped working...got new part & fixed

Just yesterday replaced the fence

Now the oven.....

Next...will be me that broken..most likely the knees go first

It is time for McDonald...breakfast
