BYC Café

Good Morning,

Having a tall hot tea now, so very cold.
My mom had a cough so bad that she saw a Doctor, he gave her cough medicine and told her she did not have covid, that was Sunday.

Yesterday being Monday, Mom stopped coughing, but had intense chest pressure, dizziness, vomiting, back pain. I did 3 home covid tests for mom and they all turned out positive.

Her Doctor clinic refused to see her, telling me take her to Urgent Care - that is where health condition need emergency care, but not bad enough to be in the hospital.

I took mom to Urgent care, they refused to let her enter because she has covid, gave me a covid test to do and told me to take mom to the hospital. 4 covid test done all positive.

I rang the hospital, they put on to speak to a registered nurse to assess mom's condition, they told me to take her to the hospital.

In the hospital they Xray her lung, urine test, blood test and yes Mom definitely have covid and also a minor heart attack.

So glad they are keeping her in the hospital for a few days to monitor, she got the antiviral covid medication.

The chest pressure, vomiting and the dizziness are all gone after they treated her nauseation. Mom got back to talk and talk and talk.....grrrr..

My mom had all her covid and influenza vaccination up to date. Her Doctor office booked her in for those things as a schedule.

Now I know there is such a thing as Urgent Care that is a hybrid between family doctor and the hospital. I have never heard of this before, and it is at the end of mom's street, how good is that?!!

Also mom's sneezed in my car and when she stood up, there is a puddle of pees on the seat. My car seat cover is water proof, but the pees was gone after I was with mom so many hours in the hospital. Where did it go? I really don't want to know...but I will have my car professionally clean to get rid of the smell...it was full on smelly when I drove home last night, it was cold so I had all the windows closed and heater on. I did end up open the windows a bit just to breath.

I will put a towel and plastic under my car seat cover from now on. Grandma sat in my car for years, but it never happened this way because she wore her special panty, mom does not want to do that.

Oh...the circle of life, we entered the world & wore diaper and had no control of our tiny body, and when we age, we again wear diaper and lose our body control.

Have a great day

This one was a bit flattened. Astrid has done an assisted hatch before so if this one needs help to get out I'm sure she'll help it. I'm going to leave her to it. Hopefully I'll have more chicks in the morning.

My chicken addict condition is full blown seeing hatching chicks and mother hen! So cute!!!🥰😻❤️😍😍😍

Is mother hen an Australorp bantam or Pekin? She has big beautiful eyes like Australorp. I have an Australorp bantam looks like your mother hen there.

Astrid is a full size Australorp. She and her hatch daughter are solid, reliable broody hens. They did the work hatching my new breeding flock.
I only have 2 bantams in the flock. Tink, a gold Sebright, and Jody, a Mille fleur D'Uccle. Both crazy broodies and have both been mothers. They are good mothers but I can only hatch 3-4 max eggs under them. Much as I love them, they are the last bantams I will ever own.

Widget is full on broody. I put her in the crate yesterday afternoon. Last night and tonight are supposed to be cool (upper 50s/low 60s), and I'm hoping she breaks quickly. It's supposed to get HOT by Thursday and Friday. Heat indices of 105°.

I thought it hadn't been that long since she was last broody, and I was right: June 5th. Geez, girl.
