Trying to go through all this stuff , throw some out and pack the rest. Washing things made of fabric, and sorting/ packing those. I get hot with the wood stove, because the heat goes up into the loft and my bedroom. Have to take breaks to hydrate.

8° here. Not as cold as they predicted (2°), but still plenty cold. I'm going to delay opening the coop a little bit. Not that it'll be warmer, but the chickens will stay snuggled up longer, I hope. I certainly delayed getting out of my nice warm bed by about 10 minutes this morning.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee!
We are pushing 30F BUT the winds are screaming and supposed to hit the 75-85 mph mark in gusts late tonight through tomorrow. I am prepping for power outages.
At least there is not much snow to blow around.
My favorite pizza place closed down. Now I will have to suffer through the "planning for pizza" stage. But the owner is off enjoying GK time and elder mother time, so only good blessings go with her!

Our nearest bakery/ice cream/beer place closed in the summer of 2024. It was our, "Hey, let's go get ice cream cones at Otisco after we finish xyz" place. We went on the last day they were open. We had never actually met the owner. She was greeting everyone, smiling.

We hoped that someone would buy it and bring it back to life, but other than redoing the paint outside, it still sits, unoccupied. They probably did some renovation inside... I'd guess? But as of yet, not open for business. Right now is probably not the time of year to launch. The place is literally at the corner of a 4-way flashing red light; that is the extent of the town, except for the bar across the street. And a cemetery.

Still drinking 1st coffee of the day. Cold over there, hot, windy & dusty over here

Last night as I was surfing tv channels I saw the news that Oprah Winfrey is in my city. Many moons ago I used to watch the the Oprah show on free tv, her show was every educational,I learned about Gary Zukav from her show.

I have a handful of things to do before Christmas and yay it is a long list.
