We are also getting rain today but much less. We will have a high of 42° tomorrow and half that on Tuesday.

Good Morning

Making a nice cup of tea now, the weather over here now is windy, sunny and cool now, but when mid morning comes it will be a different story.

Thank you @pennyJo1960 , I will look for the entrance and sprinkling some sugar and hope that they move out.

Now we are all busy heading for the new year celebration.
Have been reviewing my life in the last 12 months - the chickens I love and loss, the treatments I learned that work and not, the things I did say and not say, decisions made and not made, the decline in health, the friendships I have enjoyed/not enjoyed..etc... 2 of my friendships will come to its natural end as they have been slack, I am done with all the hard work to keep it going, so now it is time for me to bid it goodbye, ciao, adiós, sayōnara..etc. of course if they behaved then we are back on being friends again. I don't do anything at all now.

Like all relationship in life be with friends, family, chickens..yes relationship with chickens is very important, all relationship need maintenance and lot of hard work for it to grow and developed.

One of my new girls made her big girl debute yesterday.

Bit of a rough start there but not too bad and she put it in a nest box.

Good Morning

Having nice tall cup of tea now. We got tiny black ants inside the house and they bite me. Certain weather like dry/too much rain..etc.. cause the ants crawling everywhere. One year we got ant nests protrude out of the ground everywhere. We were busy trying to get rid of them, in the end we gave up, the weather changed and before we realised it, they were gone......if we did not have dogs we would not care about ants in our garden at all.

My family was telling me the other day about the amount of work, modification to our lives, the cost, the everything because of chickens...this is more incline to the complaint telling me than the positiveness of it. I do admit that my chickens cost time/effort/money/ruled my daily schedule and that I am not getting anymore chickens. I have too many ..just 4/5 will be enough as I don't need them for eggs. I would prefer to buy eggs if that stop them from reproductive ill health.

One of the 2026 things I want to do in my life is not add more chickens.

We haven’t had snow, as of yet, but temperatures went down to 12 on Christmas Day, first time I saw all the chickens huddled together but no frostbite, and now temperatures are around 32 again

The wind is blowing and gusting, but the power is still on! YAY! We've had about half an inch of snow...? but it's hard to tell how much because of the wind. It's still coming down. It'll be another indoor day, I think.

Weather is about the same here, cold very windy! Snowed about 2 inches overnight. Yes! An indoor day sounds good!
