Good Morning and Happy 2026,

Over here it is 31/12/2025 7: 30am. Soon 2025 is in the past and arrives 2026! I am having my nice big cup of tea. We have wind and it is dry and dusty...grrrr

I would like to say that it has been so lovely and sweet being here on BYC with everyone and I wish you all a wonderful 2026.

For me the list of things I would like to do in 2026 has started, I have few more things to finalised today and I am good to enter 2026.

My chickens are .. and my family has been informed that without my chickens or if their number get smaller, my family will be 100% responsible for my happiness.....Yuk..who wants that... I only say that to my family just for fun. I have decided that this is my last big number flock. I will only keep a few bantam after this.

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready.

Last day of work for the year. I only owe 5.5 hours today so I'm going in late and leaving early. I have no babysitting duty so I bet I get more done today than I would if Skippy was there.

Working group winner was a Doberman b*tch. Absolutely gorgeous dog with 39 BIS wins to her credit.

I miss our Dobe girls. Sigh. Wonderful, wonderful dogs.

So sad you get the same thing there. Seems like they don`t want us to feel good! They rarely report anything positive anymore.

Hubby watches the NBC evening news. They end the broadcast with a segment called, "There's good news tonight." It's a feel good, human interest story. Some are very touching, some are funny, some are warm hearted.

We were going to meet up with a friend for coffee/brunch. She had to cancel because of a cold. So we went to Costco instead.

We got a ton of stuff. So much, I have to find some other places to put it.

Is it new year over there yet? Probably the East Coast already

Over here it is 01/01/2026 10:56pm and I am here posting seeking help for my chicken ill health. The chicken work is never done even on new year day.

I watched the movie "Forest Gump" earlier this evening, that is just about the only feel good movie on tv on new year evening. I watch this movie countless time and it always bring a smile on my face. It is a sweet, feel good and positive movie. I think Forest Gump avoided the drama of every day life and seeing the goodness only.

I will work on my sick hen Goldie tomorrow morning once I know what I need to do from the reply to my post.

Good morning Cafè. First hot pot of coffee is ready to enjoy!

Happy New Year all.

I learned the identity of one of my 2 laying girls. Alison, one of the black pullets. She was in their chosen box this morning at 7. That's how late I got out to tend them because I overslept.

I made dinner for my niece and C and we chatted our way to midnight. I don't remember the last time I saw the ball drop.
