2nd cup of coffee is in the making....our shocker weather here is the same..still shocking hot again....

I added more air filter/wind break material to the coop. I could feel a difference in there afterward. I'm also leaving the nest boxes open for any chicken that wants to sleep in them. Little claimed one right away.

It's going to be brutally cold for the next few days/nights. I hope everyone comes through safe and sound. People, chickens, dogs, and other animals.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Been spending my morning getting ready for the bitter crunch. Filling the wood racks, getting laundry done, getting more dry bedding for the coop, cleaning the watering cans so they can be stored and filled in the house because the hose bib handles will freeze closed.

When I finish eating I'm getting chicken feed, groceries and filling up the car.

Everyone in the blast zone, BE SAFE and stay warm! We are in the 12"-18" snow zone.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee. I, too, will be heading to TSC this morning in prep for the big event. They are still hedging their bets, but it's looking like about 12" of snow.

Tea is ready...coffee early this morning already. Wow it is a snow freeze over there, I can only imagine it and I do feel a bit cooler reading about how cold it is on your side. It is hot over here...

This morning I noticed my hen BM was looking funny while poooping..and it turned out 2 long worms were on their way back into her bum bum so quick as Flash Gorden, I grasped them and pulled them out, they broke because whatever on the other end did not want to let go. ..I am amazed at myself for quick action instead of oh..yuk...and watched it. Chickens made me put my hand in a box of live mealworms without that feeling...grrr.. and grasp worms that stick out her bum bum without saying oh...yuk yuk...Look what chickens did to me!!

Before chickens and before I cared for my grandma such poopies stuff will get me running screaming yuk, OMG, yuk all the way to the moon...but I am not like that anymore once those 2 living being entered my life.....
