@SkyAJK, one of my nearly 6 year old hens was going downhill, and not long for this life. I really wished I knew how to do a cervical dislocation (often abbreviated CD here, and it means quickly breaking the bird's neck). I wasn't ready to learn how on my old girl, so I just made her as comfortable as I could. I didn't bring her inside, as she was a "hands off" chicken, and I knew she'd prefer to be with her flock. The flock spent her last two days clustered around her. She knew she was with her friends.

Anyway, my point is, there are several threads on how to do cervical dislocation, if you want to read about it.

I'm sorry for your hen. Hugs for you. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs
Thank you Sally for sharing and information.❤️ I was going to do the deed yesterday, but she had breakfast and took a dirt bath so I did not. I have read on this CD many times over, position and action as if I was doing it, my twist is not strong, Mint is a big hen. I had consider the off with the head removal with 1 act, it seems fast enough 30 second consciousness. I imagined doing all that and I could not bring myself to do it. To the VET.....

Mint has lash egg infection, and she poops yellow liquid, I want to put her back with her flock, but I worried that they catch the E.Coli from her poops and ...grrr....

Mint flat her wings, eat and drink this morning, ...whenever I decided this is the day, she suddenly more active, alert,..her big hard rock tummy is softer this morning, but she refuses the mealworms..
