Should we chose from those or wait and see if others are posted?

And Do we want to decide on a date to have the recipes in by? and who is going to compile them? what are the catagories going to be and how many for the index? Are we going to have book or CD form or both?

these are just some of the decsisions my sister and I had to make before we actually got to work on our family cook book.
Yes you can have a company do this for you but with that the results may not be excatily what you were looking for.

It did take a lot of work for us BUT IT WAS VERY VERY WORTH IT..

SO Just putting in thoughts from experence, I am not trying to discourage it at all. I Love The Idea

I think it's a grand idea. I have some recipes I'd be glad to contribute, and also, what does everything think of including not just FOOD recipes, but the "self-sufficiency" kind like for making dry and/or liquid laundry detergent, safe home cleaning solutions, etc.? I ordered the dry 3 ingredient laundry detergent and LOVE IT! I'm going to start making my own all the time now. I told Mom, she got the stuff & made some, and she loves it too. We may just start a back-to basics revolution!

I think there needs to be a contest for the title so anyone who wants to try and help name it gets a chance. I liked the idea of a photo contest for the cover, too.

I make soap, and have made laundry detergent before. I think a chapter on this would be really great!

Here are some categories for the cookbook... I think we should have a country-, farm-, or chicken-related name for each category, and maybe some good down-home quotes to go with each as a sort of "title page."

I also think we should make a "submission form". The recipe should include the title, the person's name (can be an initial and last name), and the person's city or region. There should also be a fun little one or two-line description, advice, or story about the recipe.

"This is an excellent recipe for potlucks and family gatherings."
