At the time we chose Liam, there were not a lot out there (in the States. It's a shortened form of Willian used a lot in Europe though). Liam Neesen was the only popular person with that name, but it's a name used on both sides of our family going back a few generations.

A few years later it picked up again around the time Liam Gallagher started doing solo music after Oasis broke up. Coincidence?

Liam and William shortened to Liam are both very popular are here too. But again, probably because of our close British roots/ties
