A Great Big Welcome to all our newcomers! Okie, Athena and the rest. We love you here already! I can't keep track of who is new and who have been here for awhile, because everyone is embraced with a great big

right away.

I am out in my egg cart, people were chasing me down this morning while I was trying to set up and get change from my landlord and whatnot. Sheesh! First I have cats who chase me around the house for food, then I have chickens who mob me when I go out to see them, and now I have people chasing me down for eggs! woo hoo! I love it!

It's freaking cold out here in the cart! I should just go in the house and put out my "ring bell" sign. Probably going to do that soon. Then I can get some soap made and maybe the zucchini bread.

SE, should we send you stuff for the care packages? Or do we each send a package? I have good friends over there too, and I am sure I could get a list from them as well...I don't know what unit they are in or anything.

Maw, thanks for getting rid of the aliens. Aliens really scare me. Now if I can just survive the chicken mallings in the morning!

hard to type with gloves on out here.. but now my fingers are getting cold so it is really hard to type anyway... More later! Sales aren't bad so far! I sold 4 dozen (2 are reserved and need to be picked up) so now I can only sell 2 more today...I know I forgot to catch up on everyone...know that you are all in my thoughts and I love all the news from everyone! (Good luck at the races SE!!!)

Awww thank you for the warm welcome!! ^_^ I have been trying to catch up on what I missed since I posted yesterday, and have forgotten all of the things I wanted to respond to...especially since I was interrupted by the kiddo's chaos a couple of times.

I haven't heard back from Erin yet about Kyle, she has classes this morning but I'll let you know what she says about that. He was a kid we gave one of her graduation tickets too becasue he finished a semester early to join the miliatry and didn't get to "walk" at high school graduation but was back from training in time for the ceremony, nice boy.

When Athena posts again, hopefully we can get her to make a list...would be fun to send her crochet stuff and chicken magazines!! lol!


Gotta run, have my chicken chores to do and racing stuff to get ready.....sooooooooooooooooooooooo hoping for a win tonight!!!!

Well, I've got 18 of my 32 squares and I've only been at it three days, LOL.

Talk about procrastination!!! I'll have 'em done in pleanty of time.

My husband is taking me to Niagara Falls, USA this weekend for our 12th weeding anniversary. I'm so excited.

The kids are going to Gramma & Poppa's for the weekend. So we'll be freeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! LOL, I love my kiddos, but I sure do need a break.

Oh, and just wanted you all to know - I was hooking at the girl scout meeting the other night, and managed to pass on the craft to at least a couple "ameteur hookers." I was called this morning by our troup leader and there have been requests from a few of the other girls to learn some more "hooking." I'll be demonstrating the craft at the next few meetings for anyone who wants to learn.

Ok Funny story: DH and I built a chicken pasture last night so they can scratch around for bugs and whatnot in my landlord's spent garden.

I took a break from the egg cart (stand) and went out to get the rest of the day's eggs (my ladies lay late into the day, so I might get more yet) and give them their treats. Well, I decided to get adventurous. Our run is on one side of the driveway, the pasture on the other. Here's me thinking: "They mob me for food, I bet they will follow me to the pasture!" NOT!

Jailbreak! They scattered and I maybe got 2 to go into the pasture by following me.

A few followed their sisters, and the rest I had to net to get in there and some of them got put back into the run because my landlord had to help me herd them.

DH and I planned on building a foldaway type fence lane for them so that we could just roll out the fence and guide them into the pasture that way...but I got over eager. Haha! So, that's my embarassing story. It wouldn't have been so bad if my landlord hadn't been there to laugh at me...all in good fun and he probably loved every minute of it. I guess the chickens weren't too mad at me for catching them with a net. I got 17 eggs so far today out of my 23...I had been only getting a dozen or so a day...

I have an area they run out into when I open the door... and it's not covered... I always have escapees

The worst is Roxie who likes to fly up into the tree and refuse to come back down

At least you had the landlord there to help round them back up

Egg Stand Report from Chimmychuck Eggs (Name of my egg biz.. I also have Chimmychuck Crafts, but I still have to make the stuff for it...

) I sold off all 7 and a half dozen I had to sell for today, already. *gulp* I don't want to have more layers til spring, but the word is getting out fast! Good thing we have those fuzzy butts ordered for a Nov. arrival...

How did your egg stand go today, Your Majesty?

I might have to get some more laying adults for winter after all...

I think I am going to go make some soap or something...heh...I have not been procrastinating on it, I have been too busy chasing escapees! I am kind of tired now...

How much are the 2 of you getting per doz and are they a mix of colors or straight 1 color? I have been suppling my family with eggs and my neighbor has been paying me for the dozen she gets. But when my 11 Marans pullets start laying I will have more to go out. Just trying to figure what to charge? Hope you don't mind me asking.
