Guitartist~ Love your sock monkey, shroom, & halloween quilt.

They are awesome!!!!!!! I have the sock supplies to make the monkey, but haven't tried it yet. I want to make them for my sis's boys.

I think it does look manly. Is that from the wool yarn? I want to make an afghan from the wool stuff. The Vanna lion brand has some pretty wool colors. I'll have to go check our Wally World for discount yarn. I just love your spiders to. Are those all for the swap? Is there directions somewhere? The more I see them the more I want to make some.

Last week I bought a big spool of peaches & cream cotton to make some wash cloths. I was so happy to find it!!!!!

Risurocket~How's your tractor building going? I want DH to build me a few more of them. I have the galvanized hardware wire just waiting for him to have the time. He's so busy.....I may have to tackle it myself. A friend has an old swingset frame I can have.

I started a baby blanket to give my sister. Her 3rd baby is due in Nov, so hope I can get it finished by then. I finally found a sail boat pattern.

OOh I still have squares for the swap to finish, plus tucking in all their tails.

It is soooo gorgegous here today. Hard to focus on anything, but wanting to soak up the last warmth of the season.

I guess I better get to hookin!!!!!!!

Maybe I'll blow off the house stuff and go sit outside and hook a little. HeHe!!!!!!

oh maw I have the same problem with the kids stuff everywhere. Really all it takes is a pad of paper and a few barbie things and the entire house is trashed. I can't believe how quickly the kids can trash the house. I too would love to invite people over someday ^_^ I'm glad that I have a few friends that truly understand what it's like.

About the Wal-mart thing.... I worked there for five years, and still talk to a lot of the folks that still work there when I go into my old store. They are phasing out the fabric departments all together, and are scaling way down on the crafts sections. It would not surprise me if they decided to get rid of all of the crafts eventually at the rate they are going. Wal-mart is not the same store that it once was...of course that changed the DAY Sam Walton died, but that is another thread.....

Anywho mystery solved, if you see that yarn on clearance girls, buy it up b/c it won't be there next year!

Dh has decided that this weekend we are going to take the girls camping, tent camping in the woods like me and him have both done with our parents when we were kids, so lots of hot dogs and beans, open fire eggs and bacon, fire pot coffee, and MARSHMELLOWS!

Happy to be finished with it too..yes Kim it's woolease..a really good weight and looks like I should send it up north to our hookers in the snow!!! I can't believe we are still wearing shorts and some folks have snow today!!!

Hey Okie...not only Walmart for bargain yarn but have ya'll seen the yarn at the Dollar Tree?? I found some awesome Paton's yarn this week, brown and blue, extremely nice yarn, fat skeins, of course a dollar a piece..bought a bunch of it, really nice..check that out too!!

I can't seem to copy the info Athena sent me about the Troy's place..Athena can you post it here yourself? That way anyone that wants to send anything off the list included will have that address. For a personal "Athena" kit, I was thinking more crochet stuff and personal "fun" things for her ya'll..so let me know there, I can send you her address or mine, either way is good for me.

I had a crazy thought today about Secret Santas...maybe after we finish this swap we can make a list of who would like to do that. I could randomly match you with someone's name and you would be responsible for sending them something for Christmas by the deadline noted..only catch is that it would HAVE to be handmade..anything you choose, but not purchased....what do ya'll think? Might be fun to get us through the holidays and then serious about our spring swap again..let me know what you think..enough interest and we will run a list...no obligation and no hard feelings if you choose not to, strictly voluntary.

Operation Chicken Tractor - Successful! The chickens love it.
And on top of that our coop is finally completely done as well! And all the evidence of construction cleaned up. woohoo!

I like the idea of the secret santa, but I am so far behind on even just my squares that I would like to put myself on the rain check for next year's secret hooker sister santas.

We will miss you your majesty! All the more looking forward to the lovely graphics and cheery bling when you get back!

The "stitching, was that done with a lighter yarn or embroidary thread? That really adds to it.

Secret Santa does sound great, but I have to go with Ris this time. I have to finish dads afghan, a baby afghan for my daughter by April & I am going to do the spring swap. If only I could hook faster!

I could do next years.

And Ris what is a chicken tractor?? I can only phantom up a little tractor & a chicken driving it,

Athena, I have a military question for you. Many years ago, we lived on base with my uncle. And as long as you lived on base you could go into the comasary (? sp) & look but not buy things as a suvilian. As for the Offutt base in Belvue, you can't even go on base unless you are of the military. This was about 10 years ago, don't know about now. My son n law is a union electrcian & currently, he lives outside of the Fort Riley base in Kansas. He works on base. My question is....Do you know if he can buy some cord & such & send it to me or would he have to ask someone else to get it??

Well lol after reading everything that I read, all of my responses seemed sooo late to what had been talked about. It took me all day to catch up between all of the things we had to do today. I would like to do the secret santa, but I can't promise that I will be able to do it. Does it have to be crochet? I am up to my eyeballs in art projects for school right now, and my Drawing portfolio is due soon.

OH!! Does anyone know where I can find a chrochet pattern for a cupcake pillow for my DD? Preferrably if you know where to look and can post the link as I really suck at searches. I would soooooooooo appreciate it!! I want to try to make one for my dd for Christmas this year.
