Hey, guess what??? I have finished my prayer shawl!!!

Even have all the tails woven in & trimmed! Yeah, me! I'd post a pic, but it's midnight, and even Letterman sounds tired tonight. I'll get that to you tomorrow. Now time to start on SS. And what's this about a Spring Swap? I better go back & see what I've missed!

LC, congrats on finishing the prayer shawl.

Went to the doc again yesterday. He said I just have one heck of a head cold, it is sticking with me because of my low immune system.

I think it is more of a pay back for telling somebody on here "better you than me".

Didn't know you had a voodoo doll.

Well hubby is leaving me today for a week or so.

He is going out to western Nebraska to do some deer hunting.

Secret Santa Items: Must be a HANDMADE item of reasonable cost or investment. For example .... if I were to crochet a long scarf out of nice yarn and add a spider ornament to that, I would think that would be a nice gift...if I made a record bowl with the crocheted washcloths and the music cd and music soap like I plan to make for my co-workers, that would seem like a nice gift to me too...you all are talented and what you make does not need to cost much, just be thoughtful about it and it will mean the world to whoever gets it, I'm sure

Santa Assignment: On November 16th, every person on the list will be sent the name of their "secret" person. Please do not reveal which name you have!!! It is a "SECRET"!!! I will send you the name and address of your "secret" person and you will be required to make them something and have it shipped to them no later than December 15th. Only after or during shipping are you to reveal to the person that you are their Secret Santa!!


How to sign up: Send me a pm with your name and address and you will be added to the list. Only myself and the person you are assigned to will be given your name and address.

Feel free to save your present until Christmas or open it when you get it..either way, please take a picture and share the fun experience with the rest of us!!! The main objective here is to have fun with this project..simple, easy and fun!!!

This would be a great time to recruit new members to this thread!!

Spring Swap Organizer: Scrambled Egg!

When you mail your shapes we are asking that you pack them in ziplock bags with your username/realname on them and that you also include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope and enough return postage. Most of use will send ours in the bags in a small postal box.
When you have finished your Shapes pm the swap organizer and they will pm you their Mailing address to where you will need to send your Shapes.

Thanks SE I got excited when I saw the spring swap was posted last night. Been buzy with DH sick and I found a Cuckoo Marans pullet that wasn't walking last night, so she is in a straw lined box in the utility room. So we have the sick and injuried here.

more work for me.

Well Maw sounds like ya need to sneek a camera in on Santa's list, so you don't have to work so hard for those pic's Hey we had a big go round with the phone company here to get DSL they kept telling us we were 18 feet too far out, a year before it was 6 miles too far out, until I pointed out that 4 folks around us had the service. Even our neighbor whom we share the phone pestal with had it. So 4 weeks later, 30 phone conversations, and 3 checks from their systems and finally 1 actual physical check we got it. It seems the folks looking at the screens telling you over the phone you too far out (and they are in the big city mind you) are looking at what folks in the country rural areas give them as addresses. Now mind you here we have no street signs and alot of folks don't really know the name of the street or road they live on. So they make something up. That's the root of confusion. But since I work at the County Sheriff's Dept I have town maps with street and road names. After going over all this and finding out what addresses the 4 folks around us had given, ( 1 had made up a street name) we got things worked out. I live in a Village not a town there are 203 in the population. 4,700 in the whole county, so you can guess how far spread out we all can get. ANy whoo thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well gota get Noah to the Bus. So I'll check back.

Mangled, you can come put my Christmas lights up too. It aint too cold here. They said we might get another snow job for Thanksgiving, but it always melts before noon. lol Last year, we drove around looking at lights, we get back to our house, the girls were all..."oooo ahhhh, who's house is that that's all dark?" "That's our house honey"..."oh."
So quick question, for those of us without a sewing machine, can we use iron on hem tape? lol

nochicks - hope you feel better soon. Have you tried Airborne? Or Zicam? That stuff really works for me. I guess it's all the vitamins and stuff, but it usually cuts my cold in half.

LC....I want pics! Gotta see this thing, mainly, gotta make sure mine looks within a similar shape... Who knows, I say I followed the directions, but I'm prolly making a toilet seat warmer. lol
Although, I have had several people tell me that it's pretty. I probably ran into a group form the I love toilet seat warmers convention.

skand, I'll get pics after work today. Gotta get something productive done between now & 4. Somehow, the principal thinks all these &@^^ reports need to be completed on time. Go figure!

And you need to post pics too. I'm sure yours looks great! Mine is 30 grannies, about 18" x 5'6", with two rows of dc around for a border. The lady I'm giving it to just lost her husband to cancer about a week ago. Since I actually started the shawl for him, I thought it would be appropriate to finish it for her.
