It's the first thing that I have ever made for myself!


I've got the yarn for my square, but have yet to start them.

I'll do that soon. I can crank them out in no time!

Thank you very much! The RR afghan measures 64 inches from point to point. I made it big enough to curl up under when the weather turns cold again.​

Granny Square Swap - In September we will have an official signup list of everyone that wants to participate in a crocheted granny square swap. Everyone that signs up will make as many 6" granny squares...any pattern, any colors...as there are people on the list. Everyone will send their completed squares on the assigned date to Mawchikkade and she will sort them and send them back to everyone so that each persona will end up with one square from each person to do with as they like!! That's the story and I'm stickin to it!! LOL!! It was a huge success in the spring and will probably continue to be a twice annual BYC affair.

In addition, there are alot of people making crocheted and knitted items for charity..such as: preemie hats; preemie blankets; preemie booties and chemo caps for kids. No final decision has been made yet on exactly which charity will receive the completed items but they will all be tagged in some way to indicate that they were made by BYC members and they will all be distributed somewhere before Christmas and pictures obtained to bring back and share with the contributors here on line. We're doing fall colors, right? Using acrylic yarn?? Basic Granny Square or any style of Granny Square?

This sounds fun.

I used to host quilt block swaps like this, +/- 10 years ago, when internet swapping was new lol.

I think we decided on whatever colors you want, whatever pattern you want as long as the squares are 6" and you make as many squares as are people on the list....and I am adding you right now!!! LOL!!! Welcome to this crazy group!!!

Another request that Mawchick would like in addition to the rules that Scrambled has posted above is that each participate find a way to mark each of their granny squares w/ username to make it easier for her to sort.

I promise to post a pic of how I labeled my granny squares for the last swap w/ my avatar pic.

I'm heading out to the garden to do a little crocheting outside. I have the babies out there in a tractor. I think they think my yarn is very long colorful worms. LOL!!!!!!
