Just a "kick in the butt" here for Kim and any others that may want to get started...you will need to make at least 21 squares as it stands now...and if you make extra..make EXACTLY double, or triple or quadruple..not just a few extras..impossible to sort and we'll have to send Maw a nice bottle of wine to get her through that ordeal!!!

So ya'll better sneak that tote bag full of yarn into the back pew, or take it with you to the doctor's office or the dentist or the soccer games or the library..or wherever..and get to hookin those squares!!

I'm planning on taking by crocheting bag to the hospital when my boy goes in. I just bought that 63 square pattern book from Wal-mart and I'm addicted to it. As soon as I finsh my little girl's new afghan, I'll start on my swap squares.

OK, now I have to check out that pattern book next time I'm in WM.
I made my GD a pair of slippers this afternoon, and am starting on a pair for me. I'm using a pattern made from granny squares.
Does anyone have another easy slipper pattern I could try?

I had to stop on the baby blanket, I'll need to wait to find out what it is going to be before crocheting the contrasting border. But, I'm ahead of the game now, so when she finds out, it won't take me long to get it finished. I may try a pair of baby booties, too.

I'm not getting any housework done anymore!!!

Jean, you will really enjoy that pattern book.

I have made 2 afghans and 1 king sized spread by that book and after the swap I am going to make another one. It gives you the chance to learn new stitches and you won't get bored.

Try google Jean, can't remember where I saw that easy baby bootie pattern where they are made flat and you whip stitch them together..probably on one of those charity pattern pages I've looked at lately but I'm sure I found them originally with google..looked easy!! Lionbrand.com probaby has some slipper patterns.

You REALLY are addicted to this new hobby. Good for you. I just started hooking in the spring when I was part of this spring swap, and I love it too. Once I got going I couldnt stop. I am still a little newbie at it but am making good progress. I have been trying soo many squares for the fall swap that I am sure I will have enough to make a full afghan of practice squares before I come up with one I like.

Kim, are you will going to wait till the end again and then crank out a bunch of really fabulouse squares like you did last time?

My best wishes and prayers go out to you Em and your son.

And also Maw I hope everyone is feelling better and everything will turn out all right.

Take care everyone. See ya later.

Hey, everyone! Sorry I've not been on much. Between trying to finish the afghan for my DSIL work, looking after chickens, and being sick, I've not gotten much else done! I've been lurking but not posting much. Summer is very hectic this year for me. Anyway, here are pics of the "Lovely Lace Heirloom Afghan" that I made for DSIL:

And here's a Round Ripple Afghan that I finished just a few weeks ago. I call it my Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Afghan:
