DUH!! I looked at Crochetville for the round ripple and got too distracted to actually copy out the hexagon!! I have alittle pattern book with one in it, when I finish my squares for this swap, I am working on hexagons..very cool....and yeah, that is a pretty skinny afghan there, lol!!!! I like the colors in Amy's too, country Christmas colors. Might have to prowl around that crochsteville site too for more patterns, looks like a pretty active crochet site...hmmmm....wonder if any of them have chickens??!!!! lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously I NEED one. I guess I better go to walmart and get some white yarn.

lol ok i got one section done!!!!

I did 4 squares at the race track last night, lol!! I was sooo hot it was hard to sit in the truck for long and sitting in a chair outside the truck means everything is covered in red dust. I have alot of yard chores today to get done and it looks to be a gorgeous day so maybe tonight I can "hook" some more!!...and check out some more crochetville..like I need another project!!

It's been a long time since the sign up list was updated..please everyone check and make sure your name is on the list..new signups welcome...squares won't be due in until near Halloween...so plenty of time...make as many 6" granny squares as there are people on the list..any pattern, any colors..and find some way to identify them as you own (a tag like Jacie made or some other way to show who made which square). Flat rate shipping will be used so you can count on 10 bucks for that. Anyone welcome...new crocheters, seasoned crocheters..great way to make new friends and have some fun!! We chat alot of silly stuff in this thread, offer patterns, share pics of our work and basically have a great time!! Sign up???????

Ok everyone I am back in the world again,

Scrambled I want to say a great bigggggg THANK YOU! for keeping the thread going while I was out.
If it wasn't one thing going on it was another first with the kids sick then a out of town trip, then to come home to discover the computer crashed and was unrepairable, so we had to order a new one and then reinstall all our stuff, thankfully in my collage computer class my teacher always stress the point to save everything no matter how important or unimportant to a disc. so I only lost a few pictures and articules. but I am up and moving now and ready to get back to business now. So scrambled what is the list up to know and what all good happinings did i miss? Well I will go back and start reading and try to get caught up again.

Later ya'll Maw

I have just read the last 30 pages an am now offically caught up now. I like the RR's everyone is doing and the snowflakes too. glad to hear about scooters dog making it through the bout of parvo, that can be a dangrous thing to a dog breed, I know first hand. But glad to hear he made it through it. Has anyone heard from mangled? I would like to know how her boy is doing? I seen we had some questions on the shipping of the squares so I have been thinking on it and what we should do is use the use the 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 flat rate shipping boxs they are free from the post office and the what ever it cost you to send it to me, is how much you should buy in return postage and just make sure you send that postage in on of the bags with your squares. I like the zipplock bag ideal. so everyone send your squares in a ziplock bag with your username on it. from there I will either assign numbers to each persons square and use a blank addy label with that # and attach to each square and then send a list like SEgg did with each persons assigned # or I will do a color code and use yarn for each persons square. It will depend on how many people we have and the end of the sign-up. I hope this helps. well the kidos are cause daddy trouble so I will check back in later tonight. Maw

Here's the one I am hoping my daughter will take with her to her new apartment this fall..it's out of that sugar n cream cotton yarn...started out making squres for the fall swap and was liking the bright colors so I went crazy and started hooking them together, lol!!! It really is bright but it's very soft, I'm liking it alot..if Erin won't take it, I think it will live on the arm of my couch!!! You know they never show patterns of afghans with this yarn, only pot holders and small things, maybe when I get it bordered I will send them some pics and say look how crazy us chicken people are!!!

I used a single crochet "ridge" to broder them together..think I'll do some granny looking border around the entire thing...

My goodness, Darlene, why wouldn't she want to take it with her. It looks great. The swap squares look nice too. I am making the plain granny squares for the swap and they are going to be autumn colors.
