LOL!! Thank ya'll!! Yote, it's just double crochet like doing a granny square..and I nearly always use a "g" hook for grannies, the only other stitch is a single crochet, and Kris, that's how I connected them..it makes a cool ridge. Put back sides together and single crochet, when you spread it out, it has a nice ridge..single crochet in the gaps just like making a granny, and no, there is no pattern, I just made it up. Those squares are 6 rows making them a bit over 7" and then the big ones are 12 rows and I joined them together..easy peasy and working with that cotton yarn will ruin you..the squares shape so nicely and it soft and easy to work with, no snaggles. Bev, kids are funny, who knows, she's been shaking her head so I think it will probably live at my house! I was playing around with the squares and the colors when I started with it anyway. I did one row of border on it last night..just dc in the gaps maybe one row of all the colors, then I'm done with it. I'll make some squares with the leftovers. Experiment with that joining part Kris, the ridge thing is pretty cool, I think I found it on google a while back and tried it.

Scrambled I looooovvve those colors! I love bright colors, well I just finnally master a pattern that I have tried several times before and could not get past the second round without throughing it against the wall with mighty frustration. It is called the fishermans ring and it is really pretty, I was going to post a pic to show it put I have now lost the cord that hooks my camera to the computer. I will try to take a pic of it with my cell phone but I don't think it will do the colors and justice. the yarn is some that I got with a lot I won off of ebay it is called 73 Randon Rose Print by Red Heart worsted weight 4 ply.

My next challange is the bullion stitch which I have tried several times and it has ended in my fingers tangled in the yarn but I will preveil! I will post the pic as soon as possible along with the pattern. Maw.

The strips will fit together like a puzzle to form the afghan. That's why some strips are 6 and some are 7.

Just sew them together with a whip stitch. Be sure your ends are anchored very well so through washings, etc, it doesn't come apart.

The very first afghan I made YEARS ago, the first time I washed it came apart badly.

I wasn't aware, at the time, how to anchor my ends well enough.

I only have 20 more left to go now to be all caught up LOL! the girls wanted me to make them some more amigurmi dolls so today I spent my day working on a purple dog he will be about 5" tall when done and will have bright green spots ? she really likes bright colors too. And the younger one wants a set of these little cup cakes and cookies and ice cream things so that will be next and in between I will whip out a half a square so I will get there soon I hope. Well sounds like everyone is keeping busy I still have two more purses to make I finally got my material for the inside of mine in the mail the other day and got it all finished, and the girls use it to put all there toys in to take with us when we go to town or over night at my mothers they say it holds more than their other bags!
