LOL!! Thank ya'll!! Yote, it's just double crochet like doing a granny square..and I nearly always use a "g" hook for grannies, the only other stitch is a single crochet, and Kris, that's how I connected them..it makes a cool ridge. Put back sides together and single crochet, when you spread it out, it has a nice ridge..single crochet in the gaps just like making a granny, and no, there is no pattern, I just made it up. Those squares are 6 rows making them a bit over 7" and then the big ones are 12 rows and I joined them together..easy peasy and working with that cotton yarn will ruin you..the squares shape so nicely and it soft and easy to work with, no snaggles. Bev, kids are funny, who knows, she's been shaking her head so I think it will probably live at my house! I was playing around with the squares and the colors when I started with it anyway. I did one row of border on it last night..just dc in the gaps maybe one row of all the colors, then I'm done with it. I'll make some squares with the leftovers. Experiment with that joining part Kris, the ridge thing is pretty cool, I think I found it on google a while back and tried it.
