SF, I am hatching a cross between Royal Palm and Bourban Red. So far we have not lost electricity and at this point I don't think we will. We are at the center of circulation right now so it isn't raining but we are supposed to get some more tonight and tomorrow. We can sure use it.

Karanleaf, I think my dh's could hold more than mine.

So far we haven't had to resort to that.

SE, you are too funny.

Maw I couldn't open scooters pics either, so don't think it was your computer.

Scoot I am sure glad you get to soak in the tub once in a while I know it helps. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Maybe, but we love you anyway!! lol!! I got zero done at the track last night..we parked the front of the truck in a place that was completely dark and I don't know braille crochet so I got none done last night....extremely disappointing night too...awesome race for Travis, 25 laps of hard fought racing and he gained the lead for the last 7 or 8 laps and won the race!! We were so excited we were jumping up and down..the motor blew, splattered and smoked like the misquito man immediately after he took the checkered flag and quit so he was pushed by the track jeep to the scales for after race weigh in..well, with the motor blown wide open all the fluids in it were gone...guess who was too lite on the scales to accept the win? 14 pounds off a 2350 pound required weight...we were down the tubes....guess sh__ happens but dang, that kid earned that win through some terrific driving...the only up side is that it wasn't a points race at our regular track. We didn't collect the $1500.00 win and our motor is blown...alot of work ahead this week.....

Oh man Scrambled that sucks my stepdad would have been spitting fire if that had happen to him. But he raced on a ole dirt track in oklahoma and one in arkansas yuo know stockcars.

karanleaf the lady who runs the american sumatra assocation live in glenwood mo. her name is Dee Mesjtick (not sure if I spelled that last name right) anywhos she is the one who sold me my sumatra boy summie. Boy he's really nice looking bird.

Well ya'll should have seen me yesterday I was waist deep in yarn poop. I sat down and organized and untangled and wraped yarn balls all day. I have some yarn I found with the date 1936 on it. Mom said I should contact the company and see if they want to buy it back, said sometome they might pay a good deal for it, but I don't know that seems alot for a ball of yarn. anyhow my yarn tubs are now all neat and tidy I put all my balls in plastic baggies so as they will be easy to sort through and stay nice and clean and soft.

well today I pray that my patterns come in the mail and then I will start them if not I am working on mare dishcloths and then some candy cauldrons for mother to put on here desk at work and my dd want to learn to make a blanket today so I will be busy. Later gals maw.

Scrambled, that's awesome that Travis was in first, but a bummer about the weight requirement. Sorry about the engine. How long will it take to get the car running again and have Travis back on the track?

Leepsy I hope your turkey hatch is going ok. You should post some pics after the hatch. I have 4 Blue Slate & one Black Spanish baby.

Karenleaf I live right over the river east of St. Louis. We lived in St. Louis for 10 yrs before we moved here.

Mawchick I just did the ame thing last week, b/c I had yarn stashed all over the house. I'm still tracking it down. I had a rubbermate container in one of the guest bedrooms, some in the basement, some in the office closet, a canvas bag filled w/ the fall swap, a denim bag filled w/ yarn from the spring swap, a plastic bag w/ the squares from the spring swap, a thing in the den w/ an unfinished something in it. I mean it is everywhere. I'm not patient enough to take care of the yarn poop, but did organize some projects into huge ziplock bags to keep them organized. I tried to shove it all in the rubbermate container, but it won't all fit. LOL!!!

Hey we should post pics of our yarn stashes.

coffeelady I'm queen slacker. I've been signed up for a while and only have about 5 done.

I did a little hookin at the soccer field this morning, but it was soooo hot & sticky that the yarn was sticking to me. One game down and another to go this afternoon.

Ok, on to more animal care & a little cleaning. Hook on ladies!!!!!!

coffelady3 I wouldn't worry about it to much since you still have till the 1st of November to do them. I just have plenty of time on my hands and yarn!lol. well I got that pattern in and will be starting it on wednesday. I will try to post a pic of my stash later. and I all I have to do on the key chains is sew on the legs and I will post a pic of them to.

Karanleaf your 12 got here this morning and i have them in the box with mine. look forward to that box filling up I will post pics of that as it fills up.
who ever would like a copie of these afghan patterns please let me know and I will get ya'll some copies. well I have one dish cloth done so far today as my MIL wanted to go up on the mt. behind us and see the bears Dh's brother saw 4 black bears on thursday on a drive up the mt. to check his traps. So we went to see them and of course they were not out. Oh well good day for a drive though. Well ladies I have a terible headache and think I will go lay down for a while later gals. Maw

Hi all! I am back. I am too travel weary right now to catch up on everything, and I am afraid that Scotland was sorrily void of Men in Kilts!!!
ep.gif
I am not sure why, but while I saw a couple of men in kilts, it just didn't seem right to get up close and personal to take a picture. I *did* get some lovely yarn but time only allowed me to practice and not complete a square.

Rest assured, gorgeous pictures (sorry, not of men) and some decent (relatively) squares will be coming in the relatively near future.
More soon! (PS thanks for all the well wishes that I caught in my quick skimming of new posts! The trip overall was a success)

I can't remember when the cut off date is?????? Mawchick is hosting the Fall Swap and will add you name to the list when she logs on.

We are doing 6" Granny squares that can be any pattern or any color. We do as many squares as the # of people signed up. We mark each of our squares w/ our names/user names. We put them in a big ziplock bag to protect them during shipping and mail them in a flat rate box to Mawchick by Nov. 1st.

I can't remember which size box, though????
idunno.gif

Oh yea ....... when we mail the squares to Mawchick we also include postage $$$ for her to mail our swapped squares back to us.

Thanks Smitty!

Any idea how much $$ is needed? I have VERY limited funding at the mo... waiting for SSDI to come through... so... yeah... all extra $$ goes to chicken feed! But it's probably not too much right?

I'll start making the squares tonight just in case!! Worst case scenario I'll have a bunch of them for me! Now that the days are getting shorter I have more inside time, so this is great!

Is there a color scheme or is it anything goes?

THANKS!!!!

Smitty's Farm :

We mark each of our squares w/ our names/user names.

Silly question, What do you guys mark them with? (I wouldn't want to do anything stupid like write my name in Sharpie!)
