Hey Smitthy did you do the same pattern for this swap, that one is really pretty I wish I would have been in the spring swap to have gotten one.

I'm glad you brought up the label thing I hadn't seen that part, so I will get busy making labels. I like the way you did your labels too, good idea

Hey, everyone! It's been a while since I've had a chance to post! I've been trying to keep up with the thread, but you ladies have been busy!

My DH has been going through Vax-D (spinal decompression) treatments for his back, and he is slowly improving. We're praying that he will continue to improve and that this will be a cure istead of having to have back surgery.

I'm still up for the swap, but I'm probably only going to be regular granny squares due to lack of time.

Well, I've gotta run. Just wanted to take a second to pop in and say "HI"!

I will keep you both in my thoughts! Hoping for no surgery!

Karen..... thanks

It is itty bitty.... I just went and bought some felt from Jo-Anns.... it's surprisingly easy to shape as you stitch. I just cut out two little horse shapes and sewed them together. Afterwards I added detail by molding it with the stitches from side to side. They are slightly labor intensive... that little guy took around 2 hours.... but if you want to try your hand at it, I could send you some instructions as best as I can write them up

Here's one I did last night and finished up this morning......

Karenleaf thank you very much!!!! This pattern is for this swap, so you will get one of them. I did the basic granny square for the last swap.

Those squares were my practice run to learn the pattern. I'm still learning how to decipher the patterns.

I actually had to get someone to help me, but now I think I know how to read the darn things.

I was doing those for this swap, but my daughter wants me to make something for her w/ them.

I'm doing the same pattern, but I've been playing around with different color combos and 4 ply yarn. Those were made w/ the soft wimpy yarn. I think they were coming up a little shy of 6" also, but the 4 ply are perfect and nice and stiff.

I'll have to post a pic of what I've made. I was going to ask everyone what they liked anyway since you ladies are the ones receiving them.

You'll get one in this swap, but diff color combo. I did the basic granny square for the last swap to. I was determined to learn a new pattern for this swap. You'll get the hang of changing colors. It's easy, but does slow the flow down.

I love the horse & chicken!!!!

Those are cute, cute, cute!!!!!!!

Guitartists those are sooooo awsome how much would you charge to make me a rooster and 2 horses. He would go great in my collection and the girls would love the horses.

eastTNchick we will keep ya'll in our prayers that everything will work out for you both.

Karanleaf-no problem I will stick them on for you. And the name of her farm is Wild Rose Farm I think she lives over on Devore Ave. in glenwood. Shes really nice lady.

Smitty I have a pattern for a sunflower that is 3-D but I only made one for this round. those are really cute.

Risurocket we can't wait to see those pictures and some of that yarn.

I was e-shopping for yarn last night to start my cathedrial rose window afghan, when I came across a site that had some beautiful hand pulled, hand dyed yarn but the cost is 21.00 a skein. well I might have found it for 12.50 but I don't know if it is from the same people. Oh well ladies I have a sick 3yr old today so I must go an hold her and rock her, theres nothing like mommy holding you when your sick to make you feel better. ya'll have a good day and happy hooking. Maw.

I hope the Vax-D works, if you can, also try acupuncture, it helps a lot with the pain. If he has to have surgery, go with a neural surgeon, out of all the people I know that has had to have back surgery, me and one other used a neural surgeon, the others used an orthopedist. The two of us that had a neural surgeon do the surgery had fewer complications and a faster recovery.

I always make sure to take whatever I am crocheting or knitting with me to doctors offices, it helps pass the time in the waiting room. If I am able to make a complete granny square in waiting room, I tend to start questioning the wait. I worked on baby blankets from the lion brand pattern on the pound of love yarn when both of my daughters had to have a surgery. One was a quick surgery, and the other took about 4 hours, but working on the blankets helped me a lot with the wait and kept me from going insane with worry on the 4 hour surgery that was only supposed to take 90 min. I found out it took me 30 min to do 4 rows of that pattern, as I started checking with the nurses every 4 rows after the first 90 min.
