Man, I forgot it was Veteran's day until tonight when the cub scouts did a flag ceremony at school. The no mail thing should have tipped me off to. We're thinking about you and all over there, Athena, as well as remembering and giving history lessons to the kiddo. It's weird how much of history they aren't teaching these days with how much further and further away we get from things. Scary...

Uhmm I sure am babbly tonight. I better go to bed. It usually means I am very tired...

I'm sorry that I haven't been on here in a while guys. This thread is really hard for me to keep up with, and I feel weird just coming in and posting randomly when I don't know what's been going on with everyone. School has been hectic, but has stretched me for the better. I look forward to some down time.....after the holidays!! LOL Hope every one is doing well. Hugs to all

Risu, want to take in my kindergartener? You seem a more involved with the school and activities than me. She brings home sign-ups for everything, it all just heads straight to file 13. lol
Poor kid, she gets up at 6 am, on the bus by 7am, school at 8am, out of school at 4:10, home a little after 5 pm. There just isnt enough time for her to do anything but homework, dinner, shower bed. Even Caydence can tell you the routine.

Amy, we're in Odessa, about uhh 3 1/2 hours south westish. Well, uh 2 1/2 hrs from Lubbock. My granma lives in Floydada and that usually (with all that construction in Lubbock) takes us just under 3 hrs to get there. Never made it up enough for Amarillo.

Alyssa goes to Hays Magnet Academy. One of those GT schools, where they make them super smart. Every teacher has over 20 hours of gifted/talented credits, so whoever talks to my kid, doesn't talk down to my kid. Don't make my kid feel stupid for any reason, I'll kick yer gt bum!

It's got an indoor planetarium, science lab with telescopes hooked up to NASA. Real space oriented. She loves it. Heck I wanna go back to school, think I'd be noticable there? The school is completely across town from us, we live on north side, school on south side. That being the only drawback to this school.

If there was a way that we could get all of our crap loaded easy, including birds, we would move. about 300 chickens, 15 guineas, 5 ringneck pheasants, 2 golden, 2 peafowl, plus the game birds, and you know you can't stick those togather for any length of time.
We'd look like a traveling circus! lions, tigers and chickens...OH MY!

Skand, sounds like your kiddo would be bored stiff at my daughter's school. It also sounds like the school has enough stuff going on that they don't need extra involvement.

I am actually very boring. The book fair is the "big" thing that I am doing. Though this thread inspired me to work at the craft fair at her school. We could come join your traveling circus though.

I wish I had that many animals. So far just chickens, pet rats and 2 insane cats.

I just was reminded that our church has a prayer shawl ministry. It's called Sitting and Knitting into the Mystery and the ladies (and gents if their are any, no idea) meet at a coffee house every 3rd Sat of the month. I think I am going to get involved in that too...not that I need more to do...but I am pretty sure they will let me crochet instead of knit.

First, though...my finger needs to finish healing and my Christmas projects need to get done.
