When do I intervene to help? It’s still fighting and moving a lot. Been like this for a couple of hours. Would spraying a bit of water on it help?

Was this an attempted assist in hatching?

If you see blood veins in the egg still, I would just apply some ointment like Bacitracin or Triple antibiotic ointment to the membrane to help keep it more pliable.

If there's no blood veins, then you may need to assist.

You may want to read the article below thoroughly and carefully.

The chick got out by itself, so I worried for nothing! I do have another question, though. It’s only day 22 and the chicks are pecking the eggs as they are hatching. Do I leave them in until the rest of the eggs hatch?
